Mail

Read, send and organise email inside orchit, with an assistant that knows your inbox.

Bring your email into orchit and handle it next to your work. Mail stays in sync with your provider: whatever you read, send, archive or delete here changes there too.

Three places for mail

Place Shows
Dashboard → Mail Every mailbox you've connected.
A module's Email tab Only the mailboxes linked to that module.
Email in the workspace sidebar Every mailbox linked to any module of the workspace.

Only you see the mailboxes you connect, unless you link one to a module and share it with the team.

Connect a mailbox

Gmail is the quickest: choose Connect → Add new account → Gmail, and sign in with Google.

Other providers, such as iCloud, Yahoo, Zoho, Fastmail or any IMAP / SMTP server, use an app password or token:

  1. Choose Connect → Add new account, and pick your provider.
  2. Use the link to your provider's settings to create an app password (or an API token for Fastmail).
  3. Enter your email address and paste the password. For IMAP / SMTP, add the server details too.
  4. Choose Test connection. When it confirms, choose Connect.

Note

Microsoft Outlook mail isn't available yet: Microsoft has turned off the sign-in method that IMAP mail uses. Outlook calendars can still be connected (see Calendar).

With more than one mailbox, choose a default to send from.

Read and send

Your folders are where you'd expect: inbox, starred, sent, drafts, archive, spam and trash. Search across them, or pick one mailbox. Open a message to reply, forward, archive or delete it, and choose Compose to write a new one.

Ask an agent about your mail

In a module with mail, ask its agent:

  • "Any mail I should know about?"
  • "Reply to Dana and say we'll send the quote on Monday."
  • "Archive this week's newsletters."

You review every email before it's sent.
