AI and agents
Create and configure agents
Add ready-made agents or build your own, and decide what they may read and change.
Every workspace starts with agents. You can add ready-made ones, create your own, and decide exactly what each one may read and change.
Where agents live
Open Talent in the workspace sidebar, or a module's Workforce tab, and switch to View Agents. Agents are grouped by module, sheet or status, and you add a new one with + on a column.
Ready-made or your own?
Start with a ready-made agent when one fits. They're already set up, and kept up to date for you. Create your own when the work needs a particular role, tone or set of tools. Describe it to Orchit AI, or build it yourself.
A workspace-wide agent is one of two kinds:
| Kind | What it does |
|---|---|
| Orchestrator | Coordinates work across several modules (at least two) and hands tasks to their agents. |
| Specialized | One expert, available across the workspace. |
What you decide when creating an agent
| Step | What you decide |
|---|---|
| Basic info | Its name, role, description, personality, tone, avatar and, optionally, its AI model. |
| Objective and goals | Its main goal, and how you'll know it's doing well. |
| Permissions | What it may do in each module (see below). |
| Knowledge | Which knowledge bases it reads from. |
| Tools | What it can do, such as search or create cards, or send email. Only tools its permissions allow are offered. |
| Output | How it can hand answers back: text, artifacts, or files such as Word or Excel. |
| Autonomy | How independently it works, from only answering when asked to acting on its own, plus rules it must always follow. |
| Review | A last check, then Create Agent. |
Each step tells you what it still needs before you can go on.
Permissions
An agent has an access level in each module:
| Level | The agent can |
|---|---|
| Read only | Read and answer, but not change anything. |
| Write | Also create and update things, such as cards, notes and events. |
| Admin | Also delete and manage. |
Each level includes the ones before it. Whatever its level, an agent can never do more than the person using it is allowed to, and every change goes through your review first.
Change an agent
Click an agent to open its configuration, with the same sections as when you created it. There you can also set its seniority, pause it by archiving it, or make it a module's main agent: the one that answers on the module's Main tab. Only workspace admins can choose the main agent.
Built-in agents are shared by every workspace, so only their access level can be changed here. To give a module its agent, you can also use Configure Agent in the module's menu in the sidebar.
