Boards and cards
Cards
Create, assign, move, link and discuss the cards that hold your work.
A card is one piece of work, such as a task, a bug or a request, or one entry, such as a lead or an invoice. Everything about it lives on the card: who's doing it, when, its fields, its comments, its files and its history.
Create a card
Choose + at the top of a board column. If the board mixes several kinds of card, you pick the kind first, because each kind has its own form. Then fill in the title and whatever else you know: dates, assignee, lane, labels, description and the card type's own fields. Anything the column already decides, such as its status, is filled in for you.
Tip
Or ask an agent: "Create a bug for checkout crashing on Safari, assign it to Sam, due Friday." You review the card before it's saved. See Agents.
What's on a card
Click a card to open it in the side panel. Expand the panel for a roomier view, with the card's sections on the left and its full form on the right.
| Section | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Details | Assignee, dates, lane, labels, plan, linked cards, and every field of its form. |
| Comments | The conversation about the card. Type @ to mention someone, and attach files. |
| History | Every change: what, who and when. |
| Attachments | Every file on the card, from its description, comments and file fields. |
Click a title, description or field to edit it. Changes save as you go.
Move a card
Drag a card to another column, or use Change status in its ⋯ menu. Its status, or whatever the board is grouped by, changes to match.
Some moves are locked. Your workspace's process decides which steps a card can go to next, so a card may have to pass through review before it reaches done. See Process and statuses.
Link cards
Tasks and entries connect. A task can be related to an entry, such as a call related to a lead. An entry lists its tasks, and you can add a new task right from it.
Add a field to one card
Need something a card's form doesn't ask for? Add a field or a form group from the card's panel. orchit asks whether it's for all cards of this type or only this card. See Card types and forms.
Share or delete a card
Admins can share a single card with someone (see Sharing and access). To delete a card, use its ⋯ menu. You'll type the card's name to confirm.
